How the quoting process works

Initial conversation

After you contact WSI, we begin by learning what you need developed, repaired, enhanced, or modernized. This may include phone calls, email, chat, screen sharing, or a review of your current database.

Requirements review

For database changes, requirements may be as simple as the steps a user follows, screenshots of the form or report, and a clear explanation of what needs to change. For new databases, more detail is usually needed before a dependable quote can be prepared.

Specification support

If your requirements are not detailed enough for an accurate quote, WSI can help define the needed specification. When that work requires research, design, or discovery time, we will explain the cost before doing the work.

Quote preparation

Once we have enough information, WSI prepares a quote with a bottom-line project price. If you prefer, we can also discuss hourly work when that approach better fits the project.

Questions and revisions

After you review the quote, we address your questions or concerns. If the scope changes or clarification is needed, a revised quote can be prepared and delivered to you.

Project launch

After you accept the quote, WSI begins delivering your application. Depending on size and complexity, your project may include additional input from you and a dedicated project manager to coordinate the development work.

We want a project quoted, but we do not want to get stuck with a bill if we decide not to use your services. How does that work?

At WSI, every quote we prepare is without cost. If there will be a cost associated with researching your quote, you will be notified before we do anything so you can decide whether you want to continue. Contact us today for a free estimate.

We have a very complex project that needs to be quoted. Will we be charged for that?

Quotes are prepared free of charge regardless of size or complexity when the requirements are sufficient. If the project needs additional discovery, documentation, or specification work before it can be estimated accurately, WSI will explain that process and any related cost in advance.

We are located hundreds of miles away from your office. Can this still work?

Yes. WSI has worked with many clients outside our office locations. Depending on the scope of the application, face-to-face meetings are often not necessary. Screen sharing, email, phone calls, and careful documentation allow us to deliver custom applications remotely.
